In 2011, Tennessee State University was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development to provide free energy evaluations to 50 homes
and energy improvement renovations of 30 low-to-moderate income persons in the
North Nashville community. The Go Green North Nashville initiative is designed to help homeowners protect the value of their home and offer clear savings on their utility bills. Our goal is to make North Nashville a greener community through student-led service learning projects, energy savings behavioral trainings and technical workshops.
